What we do
We are open Monday to Friday 9.30am until 2.30pm, with most of our day visitors being collected by our minibuses, where they enjoy a scenic bus ride into HH Headquarters on Mill Road, Wells-next-the-Sea.
Our visitors are greeted with refreshments and friendly faces while being welcomed in and encouraged to make themselves at home in the lounge area, overlooking our stunning garden and beyond into Holkham farmland .
Morning activities take place, from quizzes and word searches, to reading a magazine or making a fuss of our friendly therapy dog, when she visits.
Our visitors receive a delicious and nutritious home-cooked two-course lunch in the dining room, freshly prepared by our in house catering team, whilst enjoying the company of friends.
Afternoon activities or entertainment follow lunch, that are fun, interesting and stimulating, from bingo and giant snakes and ladders to live bands, dancing and earth painting sessions..and much more in between!
Regular outings and special events are organised on a regular basis including trips to Holkham Walled Gardens, Heacham Lavendar Farm, Thursford Christmas Spectacular and much more!
Afternoon tea, coffee and cake is enjoyed before everyone departs and is safely delivered back home, where friends are able to enjoy a final chat on the bus…until the next time!
Meals
We know how important nutrition is to ensure a healthy mind and body, so our home cooked meals are not only highly nutritious but made with the best fresh local produce.
Meals are key parts of a day at the House, where memories can be triggered by certain foods and new experiences can be created and shared as a community.
Lunch to your door
If you’d like a hot meal delivered to your home, Heritage House lunches are nutritious and freshly cooked daily using locally sourced ingredients – and only cost £8 per meal! A friendly volunteer driver will deliver your lunch direct to your door.
Our Facilities
The Heritage House building can be defined through its accessible and welcoming feeling, its professional capacity to provide care (including medical needs) and its connection to nature and the countryside via its large garden and picturesque views.
Situated completely on the ground floor, our building ensures accessibility by providing easy disabled and wheelchair access.
Transport
From being collected by one of our minibuses to returning home in the afternoon, visitors enjoy a welcome break from isolation and loneliness.
Activities
A day at Heritage House includes activities that are fun for all and help our visitors to stay mentally and physically agile. These can include art classes, music, outings and special events.
Activities
Outings to places such as Holkham Hall gardens, are also a regular fixture.
The House comes together to celebrate national and local occasions and enjoy music and entertainment.
